Artist Koo Jeong-A created the first ever entirely glow in the dark skatepark. The part is located in Brussels and is called OTRO.  Jeong-A created his skateable artwork out of  a phosphorescent concrete. 

“It is an art work to live, to experiment, not only from a sporting point of view but also from a sensorial, sensitive and artistic point of view. It establishes the link between the urban, practicable, sporting and playful aspect of the artwork as a skate park and the artwork from an artistic point of view as part of Koo Jeong-A’s world. ”  via  escaut.org

Adidas performance main focus the past two years has been “Light done Right”. They’ve added the Primeknit one-piece digitally-knit upper to it’s adiZero arsenal this past week. The red/white colorway will launch exclusively at the adidas retail space in London and is limited to 2,012 pairs.

How do you try and top the last two years of Michael Jordan being the cover man of this great sports gaming franchise. How about getting Jay-Z to Executive Produce the game.   It’s going to be interesting to see what twists if any the rappers and part owner of the Brooklyn Nets has on the game outside the soundtrack. If anything, it caught my eye and got me excited for the october release of NBA2k13.

Louis Vuitton teamed up with Yasiin Bey for some amazing video pieces that pay tibute to the words of Muhammad Ali. Bey plays narrator of these pieces for the Vuitton “Core Values” campaign directed by Stuart McIntyre. Watch other piece entitled “Dream” here.

Anthony Bourdain wrote a comic? Thats exactly what I was thinking when I first saw this. Get Jiro is set in future LA where chefs are treated as Gods and abuse their power accordingly. The Comic is light reading and a very obviously a therapeutic endeavor for Bourdain as classic food faux pas lead to sudden death for customers. The book is quick, witty, violent and all Bourdain. If your into Bourdain (why wouldn’t  you be?) this is worth checking out. You can buy Get Jiro! online here.

Budweiser dropped their spot for their “Made In America” Festival curated by Jay-Z. Budweiser has seem to master the montage of lifestyle imagery ads (Grab Some Buds  & Eternal Optimism). It’s a great spot capped off with Jay-Z walking to stage decked out in his Don C Brooklyn Nets hat and Jalil Peraza cross tee. Also, they add a nice piece of ameicana with Jay infront of the ever so popular and stylish american flag.

Jay-z was also in a second ad this week teaming up with Duracell Powermat below.

First off this isn’t an amazing cypher by any means… some of it is actually pretty bad (Left Brain). It’s just rad to seeing Earl rhyming and Tyler is always funny. The best parts of this are Domo’s verse. Seems like he’s really been putting work. I can’t wait for his new tape to drop in a few days.

Damn, this is the longest thing I have watched on the internet in some time . Directed and edited by Eliot Rausch. SINCE 66 tells the story of Vans through the people that have made the brand what it is today. The story is compelling and thoughtfully shot and edited. I know this is a form of advertising, but when things come across this real it doesn’t even matter. The internet is better for this piece of vans history.

State of Now #140conf has a round table discussion with Jeff Staple, Ronnie Fieg, Dylan Pulver, and Jake Pulver on the state of sneakers and social media. There’s some real interesting takes on how things have changed in the sneaker game in the past few years due to social media. I think a lot of things Staple and Fieg have to say about social media and blogging are bigger than just footwear. It’s a interesting watch not for just sneakerheads, but anyone using social media.

The Portland Timbers have had a rough go at this season, with there last lose putting them at the bottom of the MLS. Going in to the game last night I thought we’d be leaving early with them hosting English Premiere League Aston Villa.  The match started off with Tom Hanks as the Honorary Timbers Captain. It was a pretty lack luster first half with Villa scoring right before the half. In the 76th minute Rincon put one in the back of the net for the Timbers reenergizing the crowd. It didn’t take long for Villa to strike back 4 minutes later to take the lead back. Then off a crazy deflection Rodney Wallace put got one past Villa outstretched keeper. Villa then seem to put more effort in the last 10 of the match then the pervious 80 minutes, not wanting to go home a loser to the MLS and it’s worst squad. The match finished a draw which went straight into Penalty Kicks, which the Timbers lost 5 to 4.

Kellen Dengler of Pitchfok TV followed the Maybach Music Group around New York as they promoted their record “Self Made, Vol. 2”. The 37 minutes doc shows a behind the scene look of the MMG crew ( Rick Ross, Wale, Stalley, and Meek Mills) as they visit MTV, Hot 97, BET and a live performance at ALIFE.

We couldn’t have had such a rad shoot for Main Attrakionz without the homie Terry. He location scouted and did a bunch of other rad things for us while we were in the Bay. Terry also shot some pretty rad photos BTS on set of the Main Attrakionz shoot.

Captain Murphy’s name popped up yesterday on the Adult Swim Fly Lotus track yesterday featuring Earl Sweatshirt. Yesterday I was thinking it sounds a lot like Tyler, The Creature and we all know he like to go by a lot of different names. This new  track “Mighty Morphin Foreskin” sounds to me like a combination of Tyler and Earl. ”Mighty Morphin Foreskin” track was tweeted out by Flying Lotus, hmmmmmm the mystery continues.

Last night X and I hit up the Hawthorne theater for Big K.R.I.T and Casey Veggies. I was super impressed with Casey Veggie set and how much energy he brings. K.R.I.T brought that “Country Shit” to the stage, playing all his jams. He brings it live, playing a non stop 45 minute set of heat.

Shwood’s Select 2012 Lookbook uses a 3d stereoscopic technique for a unique look and feel. Some shot lend them self better than others in the piece. The guy picking up the rock and dropping in the river at 1:45 is really cool. At times the stereoscopic effect takes away from the natural beauty of the shot, I wish they used it a little less. I really dig the a lot of the Filmer/editor Joe Stevens work.
